Lecture on the Role of Religious Leaders in Building Peace, Harmony and Tranquility in the Society by Dr. Husnul Amin, Executive Director, IRD
Dr. Husnul Amin, Executive Director, IRD delivered a lecture titled: The Role of Religious Leaders in Building Peace, Harmony and Tranquility in the Society” on 15 October 2019. The participants were from different Madaris of FATA. The basic purpose of the seminar was to bring together students of Madaris and contemporary educational institutions to discuss and share how to create personal and institutional relationships between them. He said that we have to promote peace, tolerance and interfaith harmony in the society based on sound reasoning among contemporary educational institutions and madrasa education system. It is the responsibility of Ulama and religious leaders to prevent hateful literature. We have to develop a culture of tolerance and to give respect the inherent rights of every individual regardless of her/his faith.
He briefed participants about the activities, programs, and publications of the institute. He shared series of inter-sect and intra-sect harmony programs convened by the institute. He offered them to come again to the institute to participate in a 3-day workshop to share their views.
Maulana Jan Muhammad of Jamia Dar-ul-Uloom, Wazir Shah thanked the Executive Director, IRD for a very thoughtful lecture and the kind reception given to them. Ulama and students also participated in the discussion.
